Mustafa Canıtez

Mustafa Canıtez is a PhD candidate in Electronics Engineering at Sabancı University. His doctoral research investigates optimal signaling and interconnect approaches for CMOS 2.0 architectures, with the broader aim of enabling efficient communication in next-generation digital circuits and computing systems. The work is co-supervised by Prof. Korkut Tokgöz and Prof. Yusuf Leblebici and carried out in collaboration with imec. His current focus is the signal integrity of high-density vertical interconnects for 3D integration, with a growing interest in network-on-chip and wireless interconnect approaches.

He received his B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering with a minor in Physics from Sabancı University in January 2026 and began his doctoral studies immediately afterwards. As an undergraduate, he was involved in research projects at Sabancı University on custom accelerator design on FPGAs, mmWave integrated circuits, and wireless communication systems. He completed an internship in the Technology Department of IHP – Leibniz Institute for High Performance Microelectronics in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany, where he developed an SPI interface in IHP’s SG13Cu technology, and an internship at the University of Twente, where he worked on edge AI applications using Prophesee’s GenX320 neuromorphic sensor and an STM32F7 microcontroller.

During his undergraduate studies, he served as president of the SIAM Sabancı Student Chapter. Across both his undergraduate and doctoral studies, he has held teaching assistantships for MATH 203 (Introduction to Probability), CS 302 (Formal Languages and Automata Theory), and EE 308 (Microcomputer Based System Design).
